Kevin Doherty killed Jane Harrison 32 in 1995, hid her body and continued to pretend she was still alive.
Its not immediatly clear how they came to charge him 12 years later but the evidence appeared circumstantial and the jury could not agree on a murder verdict and he was convicted of manslaughter.
At the time he recieved a number of calls supposedly from her which were demonstrated to have actually been from his own phone.
